Finally A New Post...but its an article about College Football

The Big Ten Conference announced Wednesday two separate media agreements, including the creation of its own network, that should generate more national exposure and money for its 11 members.

The conference announced a landmark 20-year agreement with Fox Cable networks in the creation of the Big Ten Channel. The channel, which will be distributed by DirecTV starting in August, 2007, will feature sports programming as well as non-athletic programming 24 hours a day. League commissioner Jim Delany and Fox Sports Networks President Bob Thompson said the channel will also be available to cable distributors throughout the Big Ten coverage area as well as nationally.

The Big Ten also extended its relationship with ABC/ESPN in a 10-year agreement that reportedly is worth $50 million per year.

Have you heard anything yet about the new M.I.A.C. TV contract? I hear that NBC will retain the exclusive rights to broadcasting St. John's games.

Have you ever noticed that the Johnnies' uniforms are red? Who else prefers red? Bolsheviks! And did you also ever notice how the Johnnies don't have any names on their uniforms, just numbers? And numbers on their helmets, too, as if their homogeneous new identity has been stamped on their brains, driving out independent thought. Now, who else erases individuality and demands obediance to the collective will. Why, yes, Bolsheviks, of course! And there's so many of them--a veritable red horde out of Stearns County, sweeping all before them. Why, oh, why do we tolerate such a threat to freedom--or at least competitive M.I.A.C. football--in our midst? Won't anyone please think of the children, or at least Hamline and Carleton?

Fuckin' Johnnies.
