Lazy Friday

I was late to work this morning due to an unforeseen television event. I got up and flopped down on the couch to watch a couple of minutes of TV before I left for work. Unfortanately, or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, I stumbled onto ESPN Classic's 1996 Buffalo Bills. I was a huge Bills fan in the early to mid-90's so I was sucked right into that show. The memories of Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed, and the great center Kent Hull came flooding back to me. Of course so did the memories of those 4 straight Super Bowl losses. First the heartbreaker to the Giants...damn Scott Norwood; then the Redskins disaster in Minneapolis; only to be followed by 2 thrashings by the Cowboys...but at least I have the Don Beebe memory to save one of those Super Bowls. Every time someone was caught from behind in my pickup football games, everyone would yell "Don Beebe!" Why am I a fan of the Bills, Vikings, and Gophers!? What the hell is wrong with me?! Talk about a bunch of lovable losers. But anyway, it was fun reminiscing about my childhood through the 1996 Bills, so it was worth being a little late to work today.

Today, part four of our series of the agonizing pain in which I live every day.

Ahhhhh! I hate the computer and internet machines! I just spent 30 minutes writing my post for today and then my browser crashed on me! ugh! But you know what.....
(that was supposed to be a talking smiley, but it didnt work. Now its just sad)
We just got back from out MPC softball thats held every Thursday. Today was the best day of softball ever though. We played with new rules: The ball has to land, or have its first bounce in the infield for it to be in play. Any grass is considered foul territory. Its more fun to have to strategically place the ball then just hitting it as hard as you can every time. Although I'm probably better at just crushing it...my huge muscles you know. It was bitterly cold and windy when I first got out there, but after we were playing for 20 minutes I was sweating like a pig. Nothing like sweat to indicate you're having a good time! Am I right people?

...........okay, its now 2 hours later and I just got back in from playing frisbee! Yay! We sucked it up nicely and the wind was messing with us(toying with us if you will), but it was still a lot of fun.
Now, I always like to insert a cartoon image to represent the activity that I'm talking about, but what the hell is this. Does it look like those 2 are playing frisbee? I don't think so!

And if anyone is interested in stadiums, check out the 8 new stadiums that are being built or renevated in London right now! Wow! All I want is one little Gopher stadium of 50,000 seats. Is that too much to ask.

Food Review and Office Space

MINI FOOD REVIEW: Well, the steak at Shawn's last night was very good, but not his best effort. I thought it needed more rub. I guess we have to have Michele do that. I'd give the steak a B+/A-. We also had corn, and Shawn's mushrooms, which were absolutely delicious! Nice Job Shawn! I give the mushrooms an A+.

KILL ME:
I've had a really shitty day at work. I don't know why, but I've just been unable to concentrate all day and felt kind of depressed. Luckily we're in the basement and not in a highrise; otherwise it could have been a bad day for those poor people on the streets below my window. I guess work will do that to you sometimes. I haven't even had the motivation to post on the blog. But I'm starting to feel guilty about it, so I thought I'd try to post something today...but then I found a website of Office Space audio clips, and my motivation to share this with everyone shot right up! Enjoy! And please check out this other Office Space related website if you're into this movie as much as I am....greatest comedy EVER! Especially funny when you're sitting in your cube wanting to escape!

New Music

Picked up some new music yesterday. The new self titled Pearl Jam album, and the new Anti-Flag album "For Blood and Empire."
My first impressions after one listen is that Pearl Jam has really lost their edge over the last 6-8 years. All of their stuff sounds about the same. There's no bite to it. Its still okay, but its just what what they used to be in the 90's. They've fallen down to 'good background music.'

Anti-Flag, for those who don't know, is hardcore punk. There's not much you can do with that type of music to make it sound original, but I still really like Anti-Flag. Angry, very political punk rock never seems to go out of style. I recommend checking out Anti-Flag if you haven't.

I'll post again tomorrow. MarxistGopher is still alive. I'm heading over to Shawns tonight for some BBQ steak...yum! I'll give my food review of Shawns cooking tomorrow.
