Still no advancement in the technical problems of the blog. I'll have to wait until next week and seek some expierenced help.
I decided to call in sick to work today. I don't think I could take another day of sitting in that little cube staring at census data and contemplating jumping out the window. I never did it because we're on the first floor, so I'd proably just cut myself on the glass. Don't worry, I'll be back in that cube Tuesday morning.
Maybe I should go back to school for web design....maybe not...
Tonight I'm off to see the new Brave New Workshop show, "See Dick Shoot: and Other Signs of the Apocolypse," with Brianne. Have I mentioned before that I love the Brave New Workshop! I highly recommend it to everyone....well, for those that like to laugh at least. Do you like to laugh?
There's not really anything going on right now thats inspiring me to write about. Actually I have been following the stadiums debate in the Legislature fairly closely, but thats a long post and I have to get some cleaning and other misc. housework done this afternoon. How about I promise to actually post something on the weekend and I can get some stuff done today? Deal? Okay, sounds good. I'll go on my stadium rant sometime this weekend.
So please, keep checking back. My hit counter has been lagging the last few days. I'm off my 40 a day pace.

A Post of Substance
Well, it depends on your definition of substance...
I've been working on the blog basically non-stop for the past 24 hours. Now I'm stuck on a problem with the left "links" sidebar, so I decided it was time to step back for a while before I go crazy. Don't worry, The MarxistGopher Report is very much alive and kicking. As soon as I get this damn overhaul completed I can focus more on the substance of the blog...basically my daily rants and insults.
I haven't been up to much this week except the blog. I've watched a ton of movies...none of them that impressive though. Tonight is the big MPC Pictionary night on the Big Board in the break room. I'm pumped. A good time will be had by all. And I've got tickets to the Brave New Workshop tomorrow night. "See Dick Shoot" is the production. I'm expecting hilarity! So much hilarity...
Then Saturday I have the pleasure of going over to Matts to mow the lawn...or should I say the hillside. Not expecting so much hilarity with that activity.
WELCOME TO THE SPORTS WASTELAND
Well, we've now officailly entered the summer wasteland that is baseball season. Every good and true sport has officially ended and we all must struggle to survive until the Vikings break camp in late July. I know, I know, many of you will say.."but Andy, the NBA and NHL playoffs are going on right now." But lets be real, watching the NBA of NHL is about as intriguing as a John Kerry speech. So we'll all just have to find other ways to fill our empty lives with entertainment for the next 3 months. Go outside in the heat and fight the crowds to enjoy a day by the lakes; spend lots of money eating and drinking with the other humans; watch predictable movies on that brand new expensive TV you just bought; or just gorge yourself and hunker down in you bed for 3 months of hibernation....just remember to turn off the A/C before you do...you don't want to waste all that electricity.

The beginning of the new MarxistGopher
Greeting faithful readers. You may have noticed some major changes to The MarxistGopher Report in the past 24 hours. This is the beginning of the major overhaul of the site. I've completely changed the format of the blog from a 2 column to a three column, with an entirely different layout and text style. I'm working on the backround and setting up all the original links and extras from the old blog right now. Then I'll begin adding all the new bells and whistles to the site, which will hopefully create an exceptional experience for my visitors. I felt the need to expand to the 3 column because the content of the site was beginning to outgrow the 2 column format. The biggest new content addition(outside of the very impressive astetic improvements) will be the MarxistGopher movie database. It will include every movie in the MarxistGopher collection along with my rating and a link to all the info you could possible want about every film. It may be fairly crude when I first set it up, but I'll be working on improvements as I learn more. I've learned a ton about web design and HTML code in the last few days alone. So hopefully I'll only get better at it.
Please let me know what you think of the new format and background by commenting on this post. (Oh, and I will be changing the text to white so you can actually read it over the black background.) I hope you enjoy it as much as I'm enjoying doing it!

A Rainy NFL Draft Weekend
Happy Tuesday everyone! I'm back at work and back to blogging. Did anyone else think this weekend just plain sucked. It rained for 4 straight days. Apparently I need to take some more happy pills because all that rain made me lethargic and sad. I think I watched 8 movies over the weekend, 4 on Sunday alone!
But I feel like I should address the NFL draft that happened last Saturday. I spent 9 hours sitting on the couch watching and recording every pick in my notebook. At some point near the end of the 2nd round I just got sick of it and stopped my record keeping. Shortly after that I got sick of wathcing the draft all together and decided to watch a movie instead. God damn I spend a lot of time sitting on the couch that day!
Anyway, to the actual picks. I was shocked and appauled that Texans passed on Bush to take Mario Williams. On the other hand I like tha Saints slightly better than the Texans, so i'm glad they got Bush instead. I thought Arizona and Green Bay probably had the best drafts, and Buffalo and Detriot had the worst. Why the fuck would the Lions pass on Leinert?! The Lions have needed a QB for the past 30 years; and while I'm not a big Leinert fan, it seems like that would be the time to take the risk of taking a QB high!? Am I right people? I won't even go into the Bills stupidity. I'll just say that I think Marv Levy may be suffering from some dementia. McCargo in the 1st round?! What?! Why am I a Billls fan?
Okay, now to the Vikings. I was okay with their first round picks, although I think they should have traded up to get Cutler. They NEED a QB! Johnson is old....and he sucks. So, Greenway(fine)....Griffin(fine)....the New Mexico C in the 2nd(WTF?) Ugh, the Vikings basically blew the rest of the draft. I was pissed....and then I remembered I'm a Gopher fan....and got depressed instead. I don't know what to think about the QB they took from Alabama State...Travaris Jackson. I'm intreagued only because I don't know anything about him. If I did, I'd probably be more upset....I'm sure he'll be a bust.(and they traded up to pick this guy, ugh)
Laurence Maroney to the Patriots #21 overall! Higher than I thought he would go...and I kind of wish he would have gone to the Colts, it would have been a better fit for his running style, but I'll think he'll do fine at New England. Hey, at least all my Maroney stuff just increased in value!
Anyway, i was going to give my explanation of the new MarxistGopher movie Database that I'll be adding to the site. (it will be the best part of The MarxistGopher Report), but I don't have the time right now. I really NEED to finish the reel I'm working on before lunch, I'm so far behind. Plus Brad Jarvis is stopping by soon to play some baseball with Mark and I for a little while, so that'll kill a lot of good work time too. Anyway, once I get caught up this afternoon I'll post about the Movie Database and other events.
Peace and Love,
MarxistGopher
