Good God, does the NRA require everyone to heft a rifle on stage? Is there any other major organization that regularly has its spokespeople do something so silly? Apparently, Howard Dean was the wierdo because he wasn't totoing a black powder replica musket.

And the fascist undertones of this whole ritual are downright disturbing.
